my mind is still packed in boxes.
really truly, i think it is.
i have spent much of the last few weeks trying to get out from a fog and wrap my mind around all that needs to be done/made/paid for/set up/organized, etc. makes me tired just thinking about it! so, do you mind if i share some random randoms to un-jumble my brain?
- car shopping is for the birds. our poor little nissan pathfinder is about to die painful death, and finding a suitable replacement is proving difficult. i may actually bite the bullet and become the owner of a swagger wagon.{embarrassed.} what do you think? minivans: discuss.
- sometimes rosettes give you funny tanlines. ha! makes me laugh. so, if you are going to spend the day wandering around used car lots, pack your spf or leave the rosies (of the necklace variety at least!) at home. so silly.
- even though i would never claim utah as home, i feel the strange need to defend all residents of the beehive state after watching the bachelorette and the last season of the bachelor. i promise utahns are (sometimes a little weird) but not full on crazy-town like michelle or bentley. (had to get that off my chest)
- fruit is the best thing ever. can’t get enough. watermelon, strawberries, grapes, oranges, you name it. obsessed.
- i love my new neighborhood. there are like 35 kids on our cult-de-sac. LOVE.
- i should have started running again and getting back in shape before I moved to a town with the word HILLS in it’s name. oy. i’m paying for months of laziness now!
- i’m still in awe of pinterest. how come i didn’t think of that?!?
- i’m dying to add a new color to the shop. what do you think?? what’s missing from the line-up?
- did you know we are already in the works for another QBM in august? are you coming to Blogher? we’ll be right next door. BOOYAH.
- i am finally starting to feel like my boys are getting to the age where i can handle both of them. is that crazy? it’s been over 2 years of complete chaos and feeling like i couldn’t deal. and no, i’m not pregnant ;) i may just have to soak it in for a spell.
- i got to spend part of the weekend with my very best friends from high school. it was soothing to my soul. AND i haven’t laughed that hard in a LONG time. yay for 31 yr old slumber parties!
- i started going through pics of our hawaii trip and got a liiiiiittle overwhelmed. i really do hope i have it in me to blog about it! i will blog about it. i will blog about it!
- life is stressful sometimes, but it is pretty dang amazing too.
what about you? what is going on in your life to jumble up your brain?

Hah…I got a total visual of the “rosette tan line.” Perhaps you’ll need to start writing a warning on the backside of each necklace: WARNING: wearing this lovely necklace on a sunny day may leave a semi-permanent outline of it. Wear with caution. :)
I cant wait to hear about your Hawaii trip. I’ll live vicariously through you:)
xo
You know, I never thought about the fact that rosies could give you funny tan lines…guess I’ll have to keep that in mind! ;)
P.S. It is taking ALL my self-control not to wear my sweet rosies now…have to save them for the wedding!!
Good tip on the rosies, I would so have run into that this summer! I love that pic, your eye really are stunning! And I know what you mean with your kiddos, mine are 9 & 11 and I babysat my 1 yr old nephew for a wk….can you said wiped out. Being a Mommy to littles is hard work!
Um, yes to the swagger wagon! My hubby and I are self-descibed “car snobs” and I have owned umpteen SUVs and loved them all but NOTHING compares to the glory that is the Toyota Sienna. I LOVE that car for young kids. It took me years to finally give in but I am so glad I did. I doubt I’ll own an SUV again until my kids are in the double digits. Come on over to the dark side and jump in!
And QBM in August? I hope I can finally come since we’ll be visiting family in SoCal then! Announce the dates soon, K?
I had one of those tan (shapes) that lasted way too long, thanks for the tip!
Can’t comment on the car, i am on the same boat.
you have great colors, I was having a hard time deciding which one to buy; I guess you can make some sort of rainbow, different shades same color…
You should add a bright orange to your colors!!
I am so ready to buy my first rosette piece but haven’t decided which or in what color :)
Definitely go for the minivan.
They rock and it’s not because it’s ‘been my dream since I was five to have a million kids and drive a van,’ no, more so because I can haul all my stuff in it and go places with my kids AND my friends….oh, and you get about the same gas mileage as you do with an SUV, but more legroom.
Soooo, I would go for the minivan, however don’t do what I did and stick a MOPS mom sticker on the back…cuz then everyone knows there are many urchins riding in the back of your vehicle.
We bit the bullet a couple of years ago and went from a Tahoe to a Hondy Odyssey, mainly for the 3rd row and gas mileage. I went top-of-the line (black on black Touring model, leather, navi/dvd, satellite radio, wood accents, etc) so that I could really sell myself on the idea of driving a… minivan. There. I said it. And as much as I’d rather have something else for my own silly vanity reasons, it really is convenient. We are always picking up other kids and taking them somewhere with us, so I don’t think we could do without the extra space. Yet it still fits in our garage, which I can’t say about a Suburban, which we were considering. We do a lot of road trips, and I must say, it is a very comfortable ride. The doors and tailgate open and close at the push of a button, which I like when I have a handful of stuff I don’t want to have to set on the ground before I can open the door. And we haven’t had one problem with it in 96,000 miles.
Once I got past the stigma, I accepted that it is the best thing for our family. Good luck in your shopping!!
Make that a “Honda” Odyssey. ;)
Hmmm….what about a lime green? Bright orange?
Just received my GREEN necklace. THANK YOU =) LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! I have gotten so many compliments already.
Swagger Wagon: JUST DO IT! =) My hubby and I have 1 daughter. It only took us about a year to bite it and buy one. We have a Chrysler Town and Country. I was the same way…I would only agree to getting one if it was fully loaded! ha! We have heated leather seats, dual DVD players, automatic doors, etc. It also has a back up camera and the option of built in navigation. Best thing is my hubby drives it until I’m done teaching for the school year and I steal it over the summer. Good luck!
I would love for you to offer (perhaps, bring back?) a true red; something that would look absolutely amazing with red lipstick.
Can’t you just picture it popping off black, gray, or white? (Yes … I tend to dress in colors that can be best described as a bruise!) Red for the holidays, yes please!
I have to admit that I love, love your turquoise, die for the coral and would give up my purse to a mugger before I’d give up my pacific necklace. It’s not right, but I’m slightly obsessed!
And … from now on, when I order a necklace, I order the earrings at the same time. I didn’t have any idea as to what to expect when I ordered my first pair, but I now know that they are incredible; really substantial and standout pieces.
That’s funny about the two bachelor contestants from Utah…yes…both a we bit crazy-town!
I wish I was going to BlogHer, that would be fun to do it all and swing by QBM.
go for the minivan! we’ll be right behind you. plus, if you’ve got the space then maybe i could convince you to have 3#. :)
just read your post about moving/home. it’s got to be incredibly hard to leave a place you have settled into….espcially with little ones. but can i just say that i am beyond happy that you came back to SD. LOVE having you guys here!! now we just need to hang out again…maybe go for a run for old times sake?
i look forward to seeing your new place and all the fun projects you have in store.
are you & the boys heading to sea world on friday? hope so!
We have a GMC Acadia and love it. It gets the same mileage (or even a bit better) than the minivans, but it holds 8 people comfortably and still has plenty of trunk space.
ah my dear…..the mini van debacle. i said we would NEVER have one. but geez….who can afford an SUV and the gas…don’t even get me started on the gas:) we gave in last year and bought a toyota sienna- used. i LOVE it. seriously LOVE it. its so convenient and it rides like an SUV…kind of.
love the randomness!!!
take care sweet friend.
you will blog about it, you will blog about it!! ;) sorry, i just had to get a little motivation in for ya…
I think lavender would be pretty. I know you have the purple, but I think lavender would be nice. Maybe another shade of dark grey and possibly a line of different shades of denim. I looked online at one of those color cards and boy is it hard to choose. I think you have a great representation right now.
you are amazing! thank you for sharing being overwhelmed -it happens as we all know, yet not all can be open enough to share. LOVE.
the amazing thing is all of these are wonderful things, well, except maybe the Utahns from the Bachelorette and the sore muscles of running those new hills. guess what? now you’re going to be overwhelmed with comments from this post ;P
love you pretty mama! see you soon :)
xoxo
I love my minivan!
Chrysler Town and country!
You should def. add tangerine!
I just did a post on turq and tang- I love the 2 colors together.
Tangerine rocks.
Love the fun random updates! :)
You should totally add bright orange to your shop! That’s the one color I’ve been DYING for!
