what I wore Wednesday

is it wednesday already? i’m happy to share with you a few of the outfits i wore this week! i get bored pretty easily and am always looking for a new way to mix up my wardrobe, but of course i am not going to go shopping every week! in fact, these outfits are all *new*, but there is only two NEW items (one purchased, one made.) now that’s what i call PRACTICAL creativity.

day one: to Wicked! with my girls… took the train up to LA, the metro into hollywood, ate dinner at a fancy foodie spot, loved every minute of the musical, and then a slumber party. pretty freaking fantastic day!

looking back through these pics, i am noticing that i wore every color of the rainbow!! red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and even pink … all in there. SCORE!

what did you wear this week???

defying gravity

i’m a crier. it’s true. try as i may, there are times i simply can not hold it in. though it wasn’t the first time i’d seen wicked at the pantages theatre, i couldn’t stop the flood that had been welling up behind my eyes.

when i decided to start a business almost three years ago, i had no idea what i was in for. i had no idea if it would even work. but i prayed it would. it had to. i had 2 babies, a husband in school, and a savings account that was nearly empty. this had to work. we had to pay our rent.

Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It’s time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
And leap…

taking the leap into the unknown was exciting and terrifying all at the same time. in the beginning, i was lifted up by the thrill that i could actually make money AND be a stay at home mom. i felt blessed and encouraged and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to my family when it was most needed. over the last few years, the ups and downs have made for quite a ride. days when i wanted nothing more than to be able to live the “normal life” of a wife and mom, days when i felt on top of the world. moments when my fingers were raw, eyes tired, and heart a mess. moments when my soul soared, held my head high, and heart burst with pride. what a ride. but that leap… that step into the darkness? that is quite possibly what i am most proud of.

as i’ve received emails and comments from all of you filled with questions and concerns about your business, i wanted to be sure of one thing.

this isn’t easy.

it’s amazing, don’t get me wrong.

but dang, it’s HARD.

there is no secret. no magic formula. no “if you do this” your business will thrive. no golden ticket, no guarantees.

but what’s better than that? there are no limits. no boundaries. except for you.

I’m through accepting limits
‘Cause someone says they’re so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try I’ll never know

so, before we get into all the Q&A’s (first one on thursday!), i just have to get this off my chest.

you can do this. IF you want it bad enough.

it won’t be easy. in fact, it may be the hardest thing you ever do. but you’ll never know what you are capable of until you try.

so, are you ready to leap?

disclaimer: if you haven’t seen wicked and this all seems cryptic and weird, sorry! you MUST see it. love. love. love it!

shop updates!

happy monday!!

i had such a great weekend, and hope you did too! but that’s another post for another time;)

right now, it’s time for shop updates!!! i spent way too much time playing last week and not enough time rolling rosettes, so i don’t have as many updates as i’d like, BUT i do have some fun new fluffs in stock!

like these hearts i mentioned in my instafriday post!

now available in navy/tan, black/white, and coral/aqua!

i also have new fun colors of lace and tulle fluffs. don’t you just love this watermelon color?

and lastly these granny roses! love these, and sort of want to keep them all for myself.

all of these products are brooch pin/alligator clip combos. so easy to wear and the perfect way to add a little color to your life.

have a happy monday!
