last weekend i got to attend the last wedding of all of my best high school girlfriends. it was like the end of an era! i stressed about what to wear (of course) and ended up going with an old favorite – with a little twist of course :)
for me, wedding attire can be tricky. you don’t want to be over or under dressed. you want your outfit to go well with the venue and activity of the wedding – if there will be dancing, you want to have comfy shoes, and clothes that move well (come on, i like to DANCE!) – etc. etc. you also of course want to look your best since you will most likely be seeing people you don’t see often or haven’t seen in awhile!
here are my tips:
wear a color you feel CONFIDENT in. find out what your friends are wearing. sparkly accessories will make you shine. find a fit that won’t make you want to pass out. or skip out on dinner. and dessert. the end.
before we get to the outfit, here is what it is like to get ready for a friday afternoon wedding at my house:
ay ay ay.
lately i’ve had to curl a couple random straight ends of my hair, so this is how the boys entertained themselves in the meantime. they are so silly. i know they like me, but do they really have to be RIGHT NEXT TO ME AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT?
deep breath. (is it september yet?)
anyhow, “washing” the mirror worked as a good distraction until mama couldn’t take it anymore :)
on to the outfit.
this is the dress i wore for easter! i changed it up a little by adding some vintage touches. the wedding was at a GORGEOUS old villa in San Juan Capistrano, so the vintage vibe was perfect. i got this vintage slip from the wandering ruby olive to lengthen the dress a little – and i LOVE it. it is a beautiful tiffany blue with yummy off white lace around the bottom. wish i’d taken a better picture!

bracelets: allora handmade and F21
i had been wanting to try to make something new for the wedding, and finally the night before i came up with something i was excited about. i’d been hanging onto some beautiful vintage glass buttons forever, and finally figured out a good use for them! i loved the subtle sparkle that they gave off, and it was just the right touch of old world loveliness. i also had to layer on the bracelets (my latest obsession!)
isn’t the bride just stunning?!?
9 of us girls that have been close all of these years. it was so great to be with these girls and see them interact with spouses, etc. what a fun night! (i see now my slip managed to creep up out of sight! oops!)
by far the best dressed of the night…. do you DIE over her dress? what a beautiful couple! congrats Suedy and Alfonso!
what is your go-to style for weddings? any tips?
