what i wore wednesday – to SNAP!

linking up with the pleated poppy today for what i wore wednesday!

sometimes dressing for a conference is difficult. so much pressure to be cute!! and since i was running way behind last week and barely finished all of my product and booth for queen bee in time to leave, packing was chaotic.

i ended up throwing things into a suitcase that i had never worn together – which is not the best way to go.

i always feel like i want to wear something new, or at least something in a new way – but really, i always feel most comfortable in something that i know i feel good in. oh well. next time.

this first outfit is actually from last tuesday – when i was going nuts trying to get it all together. and it was rainy – hence the boots and knee high socks.

day 1: crazy conference prep

What I wore Wednesday – NEON!

i told you before that i was a little hesitant about the neon trend before i added the new sping BOLD colors to the shop. the response has been so great that I started to wonder if neon really was catching on, and beyond teenagers.
The neon I remember from the 80s and early 90s was tacky: paint splatters, fake graffiti, plastic accessories, and other trends i hope to never see again. it wasn’t until i went to the mall last saturday with my mom that i saw the possibilities. neon could actually be chic.

i decided to give it a try and see if i could really make it work for me this week. see for yourself:

day 1: Easter Sunday!
Photobucket

dress: nordstrom

modern pearl necklace in lime: allora handmade

shoes: target

i found this dress at Nordstrom and was of course drawn to the bright color. i hadn’t worked it out in my mind what color i wanted to accent it with, but when i tried it on the next morning (with every color rosette necklace I have ever made) i double dog dared myself to think outside of my box. lime was just the right touch to make me feel a little bit edgy and a little bit sweet.

day 2: errands and working from home
Photobucket
patterned top: nordstrom

coral undershirt: downeast basics

white shorts: gap

modern pearl necklace in blueberry: allora handmade

sandals: target

hair: UNDONE!

day 3: playdate!
Photobucket
sweater: h&m

modern pearl necklace in persimmon: allora handmade

blue skirt: shade clothing

cute boy: heaven sent

so, what do you think? is neon for you?

monday updates!

hello, monday!

hello, last minute beach campout!  some great friends called to invite us late in the week and it was just what the doctor ordered. granted, now it’s monday and my weekend chores/catch-up to-do list items are still on a to-do list, but some family fun and fresh outdoors was definitely needed.

i mean seriously, who doesn’t need this every so often?

(hello, calm before the storm…)

hello, shop announcements!

1.  i’m excited to announce the spring BOLD colors are in stock! i only have a handful of each color in stock, so get them quick! i was a little hesitant to add such bold, bright colors to the shop (and you know me, i LOVE color!) but they are so on trend and so much fun that now i’m just in love. hope you are too!

welcome the new girls:

3. a few of you have asked about shipping in time for easter. if you order monday, your package will be in the mail by wednesday at the latest. so, with priority mail (depending on where you live) they should make it just in time to beat the easter bunny;)

hello, april!

how did that happen? well, the good news is SNAP! the conference is almost here! yay! will i be seeing you there? i hope so!

i will be taking a little spring break SNAP, so get your orders in by April 10th!  i will have a few items for sale while i’m away, but nothing will ship until after april 24th.

RECAP: order by april 10th for ready to ship items. orders placed after april 10th will not ship until after the 24th. capiche?

now go find yourself some bold pretties and have a happy monday! xo
